FACES OF PCSC
Palmetto Conservative Solar Coalition (PCSC) consist of companies, advocates, elected officials, and individuals who believe in removing barriers to solar businesses and applying free market principles to help further energy independence with solar energy in South Carolina.
As a conservative, I support the free market driven by innovation. I’m excited to lead the PCSC because solar energy gives people a choice to power their own homes. I’m confident that lawmakers will continue to remove barriers and allow solar energy to thrive as an option for all South Carolinians. As Chairman of the PCSC, I hope to encourage conservatives across the state to get involved in discussions about our energy future.
PCSC HONORARY CHAIRMAN MATT MOORE
Solar energy is working in South Carolina. Thanks to Governor Haley and leaders in the State House, South Carolina has become a state on the move when it comes to giving people the chance to produce their own power and to protect our God-given natural resources.
FMR. CONGRESSMAN GRESHAM BARRETT
Supporting solar energy in South Carolina means supporting core conservative principles like the free market and energy independence. Our state must embrace policy that will uphold these values and work to remove barriers to solar businesses to the benefit of consumers and South Carolina's economy alike.
FMR. SENATOR GREG GREGORY
I was proud to co-sponsor Senate Bill 626 last year - a bill that protected South Carolinians from higher taxes for choosing solar. That's the kind of common sense steps we can take to make sure folks in South Carolina have an easier time choosing their energy source. I'm looking forward to supporting the PCSC in their quest to push these reforms.
FMR. SENATOR WES HAYES
I'm proud to see solar growing in my district as a result of market-based policies. Across the Midlands, companies are creating jobs and energy savings for South Carolinians - that is great to see.
REPRESENTATIVE NATHAN BALLENTINE
The Christian Coalition is proud to work alongside the PCSC and conservatives who are looking at renewable energy not only in terms of cost savings but also in terms of being good stewards of our God-given natural resources.
CHRISTIAN COALITION OF AMERICA
I've seen first hand the jobs created by free market solar policies that work. I'm excited to see Gresham Barrett and the PCSC pushing for more job-producing policies that South Carolina can be proud of.
REPRESENTATIVE CHIP HUGGINS
South Carolina has benefited greatly from solar energy. It's creating jobs, growing the economy, and providing energy choice to homeowners and businesses across the state. The Palmetto State should be looking to enable more of this technology, and smart policy is a perfect place to start.
REPRESENTATIVE NEAL COLLINS
I was lucky enough to fill one the first solar jobs created by pro-solar policies in South Carolina. That's why I'm happy to be helping the PCSC push for policies in our state that give my neighbors energy choice, create more jobs here in the Palmetto State, and help America be energy independent.
TYSON GRINSTEAD, RCGOP CHAIRMAN AND SUNRUN DIRECTOR
Palmetto is excited to join the Palmetto Conservative Solar Coalition. The Coalition, under the leadership of Congressman Barrett is well positioned to promote the growth of solar through the reduction of existing barriers for solar companies. It is evident that the Coalition has both homeowners and businesses best interests in mind as it looks to create more jobs and ensure lower electricity bills for years to come.
PALMETTO SOLAR
I'm excited to support the PCSC. As a small business owner, government red tape can be a great barrier to job growth. Solar energy is no exception. I want to see solar companies grow and thrive in South Carolina, and that means breaking down barriers.
CONGRESSMAN WILLIAM TIMMONS
Summit Solar is excited to work collectively with the PCSC to not only give home and business owners more options for how they get their power, but also in securing a long term future for the solar industry in South Carolina. Without organizations working for solar policies, the industry would quickly disappear in the state. Let's work together to protect the future of solar energy in our great state.

Competitive solar power is a bright spot in South Carolina’s economy, employing thousands of workers and putting energy consumers across the state in control of their own energy bills. Vote Solar is proud to work with solar supporters of all backgrounds to remove unnecessary barriers to continued solar investment and energy freedom in the state.
